Welcome to Willow's Class Page

This term Willow and Juniper have really settled in to being in reception, and we have been learning lots of different things!

We kicked off our Autumn topic by going on an autumn walk to the grove – we looked at the colours we could see, the shapes of the leaves and all the different sounds we could hear. We chose some leaves to bring back for ourselves, and we have used these in our creative work!

We have been practicing our numbers and number recognition in maths this term. This involved counting lots of different objects, such as pompoms and even feathers! Then we had to find the matching number, and have a go at writing it ourselves. We have practiced this lots, especially in our mini maths where we focus on one number a week!

In English we are focusing on using our phonics knowledge to read and write mainly consonant-vowel-consonant words, and moving onto even longer words! We are also looking at what goes into a sentence, such as capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.
