A Look Back on Autumn Term
What a brilliant term we have had! Elm class settled brilliantly into the term and took part in lots of exciting activities.
We have had a great time learning all about space this past term. The highlight of this was being able to borrow the moon! We were very fortunate to be able to loan from The National Space Academy, fragments of moon rock from the Apollo Missions. In the box, there were meteorites, fossils and fragments of rock from Mars too! We were able to examine these and learn all about how they came to Earth. Not many people can say they have held the moon!
A Fun Way To End The Term
In our final week, we were able to watch a pantomime and have our very own Christmas party. We all had lots of fun playing games and eating party food. Thank you to everyone who contributed to our party.
We are all very excited to start our new topic for this term ‘Heroes and Villains.’ We will be exploring questions such as, what makes a hero or villain and how do you decide if somebody is a hero or villain?
We will be exploring this through our English work (more to come later) and history where we will be examining our local history of heroes, villains and famous outlaws.
A good knowledge of times tables is useful in many areas of maths. The Times Tables Rock Stars programme is a really fun and helpful way to gain confidence and speed. Every child in Elm Class has their own log in details and can access the website at home. We will be having Times Tables Rock Stars sessions in class too. Can you top the leader board?
