Miss Shenton and Mrs Lever
Homework and Spellings
Hello and welcome to Rowan’s class page!
We have had a wonderful term so far and the children have settled in to their new class really well. They have all been working incredibly hard and have lots of amazing learning to show you!
Our Afternoon at Clifton Manor
In Topic, we have been learning all about the vicious Vikings! We have been researching many different aspects of Viking life and have found out lots of interesting information.
On Tuesday 19th October, we had a very special Viking Morning!
The morning began with a Viking performance. We watched and listened carefully to the incredible story of a young Viking named Freya. Freya was due to be married soon, and was destined to live the life of a typical Viking girl, however, that was not the life that Freya wanted to live; there was nothing Freya wanted more than to be a real Viking warrior! During the play, we were able to learn lots of interesting facts about Viking life and how they invaded Britain.
After that, we all took part in an amazing Viking workshop! We had to imagine ourselves in different Viking settings and position our groups to create a perfect still image to tell a story.
Here are some photos from our day:
In Geography this term, we have been so enthusiastic and eager to learn about rocks, fossils and volcanoes!
We have learned all about the different types of rocks and how they are formed; experimented with a range of rocks (which included drawing on Miss Shenton’s trousers to test durability!); sequenced the fossilisation process; and explored the structure of the Earth to understand how volcanoes and earthquakes occur.
We were lucky enough to have a visit from Mrs Slatter, who came in and spoke to us about rocks.
