Nursery

At Glapton Academy we offer 40 nursery places for children aged 3-5 years. Children attending our nursery are in the best position for transitioning into school when they are four years old.

Creating memories in a safe, happy and inclusive environment.

Nursery is a very special time for our pupils. We want to provide them with some of their best memories ever; memories of happiness, inspiration, friendship, discovery and success.

Our nursery is led by Mrs Smith who has over 16 years’ experience and has been at the school for 22 years, providing a happy, stable and consistent environment for our children. Mrs Smith is supported by a wonderful team of teaching assistants who ensure every child is safe and supported throughout the day.

What activities are available?

Children enjoy a wide range of activities in a large, bright, indoor space with access to a safe outdoor play area.

Our aim is to help prepare your child for the next stage of their education. Children attending nursery benefit from building links with the school, teachers and pupils. They are encouraged to join activities with Foundation year children, helping them to transition as they move through to Key Stage 1.

Our learning and development is built around three prime areas:

  • Communication and language
  • Physical development
  • Personal, social and emotional development

We support children in four specific areas:

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive arts and design
